Don’t be Scared to Check Out Your Booo-bies with Thermography

It is an ominous, grey October morning. You enter into a dimly lit room with odd-looking machines. You begin to panic and feel more apprehension than you have ever felt before. You do not know what will happen next, but you are sure it is going to be a painful and frightening experience. You tell yourself it will be over in minutes and you will yourself to move forward with a false sense of bravery. If only you were setting foot in a haunted house, you might not be so afraid. But, this is much worse than any haunted house…this is your mammogram appointment!

Even with ghosts, goblins, and things that go bump in the night – all the scariness October brings – none of these is more frightening than the dreaded mammogram. But, fear not! Save the horrors for Halloween. This October, you don’t have to subject yourself to the painful experience of a mammogram when you can choose thermography instead.

What is Thermography and Why Should You Care?

Thermographic imaging; thermography; or digital infrared thermal imaging is a non-invasive, painless way to detect abnormalities in breast tissue BEFORE a tumor can develop and be detected by other methods. Yes, you read that correctly. Traditional (and painful) methods of breast tissue screening, namely the aforementioned mammogram, are not able to detect abnormal activity in breast tissue that may lead to breast disease as early as thermography can. Only thermal imaging can offer the earliest possible detection and therefore, intervention and prevention.

Thermography studies have shown a 95 to 97 percent accuracy rate for early detection of abnormal breast tissue activity and a 61 percent increased survival rate for women who are diagnosed with the earliest stages of breast disease. We’re talking early – as in two to five years earlier detection than traditional mammography exams.

So, what are you waiting for? Here are the totally not scary facts of thermography:

  1. Painless!
  2. Non-invasive
  3. No radiation
  4. No &pression
  5. Effectively and safely screens natural breasts and breasts with implants
  6. Earliest possible detection which creates the opportunity for earliest possible intervention
  7. Provides information about inflammatory breast cancer and fibrocystic activity
  8. Painless! (Did we mention that already?)
